Toxic stress derails brain development,it is also frozen in the nervous system.The behaviour that we see is the way that their brain has developed & adapted to their environment.That behaviour works well in that environment but does not work well in school,then we punish them🧠🌱

Watching this was so upsetting and made me so angry at the treatment of these poor women. I experienced concerns not being acknowledged or followed up early in my career. We need to do so much better 🥲

I remember a pupil showing me her report card. All top marks in her class. She said,"I hated the subject but loved my teacher." If you solely focus on rules, you spend most of your time enforcing them. A classroom environment is best built on meaningful relationships🧠🌱

OFSTED reflections from this week... 3 deep dives all at the same time taking all senior, middle leaders and some teachers off the floor- definatley not 'typicality'. Days 8am to 6pm not aligned to parents, especially single parents and childcare hours. Outdated!
