Busy morning, warmer weather bees very active. Supers on 15 and 5 splits. Then just leaving and a super swarm arrived, all hives up and moved to quarantine site. Happy days

On Sunday I was asked to collect some old bee keeping equipment from a friend who after 40 years has hung up his bee suit. On moving the pile a few bees appeared from the tiniest split. When i eased the top open there is a full colony on wild cone (no frames present)

Spent the morning reducing entrances, wasp attacks have been on the increase this past week. Yesterday every hive at the blackberry apiary was defending their entrances. The only hives that genuinely seem not bothered are the underfloor entrance hives. May get more of these.

This can never be accepted on warped conservation grounds. It’s brutal cruel slaughter for pleasure nothing more & we need all wild animal trophies banned from being imported to Britain. No more excuses, no more delays, just get it done

We have 4 bait hives set up in the garden, today I dropped off probably our oldest hive ready for burning been repaired so many times. Just got home and swarm has hives it’s self in the old one. Marked queen, very happy.

4 splits on a separate orchard with cherry and apple are almost ready for hives, no matter how many times the bird scarer goes of it still makes me jump, bees seem fine with it.
