This attitude is a result of approaching homeschooling as “like regular school but I’m the teacher.” In my opinion this is a bad way to approach it- but regardless, if you’ve met teachers you know the average person can homeschool because the painfully average woman IS a teacher.

@PastorDeberny The earliest martyrs weren’t robbed in their homes by criminals, or attacked in church by the mentally deranged. They were sentenced to death by the state. I never heard the LCMS call for us to maintain a faithful witness by attending church even under threat of arrest or COVID.

I help criminals get away with crimes and avoid all temporal consequences, knowing this will have a negative impact on my children’s lives. I do this so that I can have pastors preach a sermon to them sometimes, even though none of my relatives are Christians. I am the LCMS.
