@jack I've recently considered the role of rough consensus in computer science given the power and gravitas these things now have and we might need a more democratic process moving forward that is more inclusive. This is possibly the root cause of current interference in tech.

Implanted brain machine interfaces are still in their infancy and require ~a decade at minimum of multicentre clinical trials to ensure that they are safe and effective for use in human patients. Also, we still know so little about the biological computer between our ears.
