Topdressing plays an important role in maintaining firm and smooth putting greens. While the sand may temporarily impact playability, the benefits are well worth some short-term disruption.

We’re at field capacity, fully saturated on top of that had 3 inches of snow last night followed by heavy rain all day, even our daffodils have given up 😂. It’s been absolutely brutal. Just over 800mm since January not that I’m proud or anything 🥲
Job is hard enough as it is without them promoting absolute crap like this. I’m not knocking the Greenstaff they are doing a fantastic job. It’s just not a true reflection of what this profession is actually about!

This sand is a bit of an unseen investment, that's how I see it. Over the last two autumn/winter we have spun out about 750t. It's ongoing year after year now. Working it in to profiles, firming area's, this will keep us open at times and aid recovery at times.

One of my best friends & golfing buddy passed away suddenly Tue night at age 64. He was a golf fanatic that maintained a hdc between 0 and 2 for as long as I can remember, but he was a greater guy than he was a golfer. I played with him Sunday, he birdied the last hole for a 76.
Ok speech time 🤷🏼♂️ so just been to a golf course for a visit which had one Greenkeeper 🤔 yet three people working in the cafe clubhouse with one customer 🧐 something is not quite right here! No money to spend 💴 sure is tough for Greenkeepers in the true grassroots manner 😳
☔️Nearly all clubs are struggling with the relentless rain fall. From a dry June we have pretty much seen the wettest period on record and we are not yet in winter. A much needed break is hopefully on the way for our fantastic greens teams. #golf #turfmangement #greenkeeping
