Folks poo-pooing posting the long-range model tracks (10-14 days) baffles me. 🤔 Tracking 'canes and forecasting a path is not fear mongering. It's preparation. Now, taking a WAG at the strength of the storm 2 weeks out is a whole different story.

This is what the GFS operational model thinks MAY happen. A 996mb (cat 1 hurricane) cross-over in the Florida Keys into the Gulf, then crossing the Florida peninsula into the Atlantic and heading north. EURO isn't showing anything yet. #ChasingBoltsWX

I'm expecting this blob to get a name this weekend. But, notice how the activity picks up in the tropical Atlantic. 'Tis the season.
The season is winding down. Not as many bolts as I've seen in years past. I'm hoping for a few more chances to go Chasing Bolts. Fingers crossed 🤞.

EURO model of tropical Atlantic today-Sept 8. Tropical wave west of Cape Verde Islands heading west into favorable conditions for further development. Model guidance showing WNW movement, then curving back to the NE far off shore. At this time, no threat to land. #ChasingBoltsWX
Looking way out to mid-September. Nothing else going on. Another fish storm? GFS thinks so but pushes it further out in Atlantic. Lots of time to watch.
