The result of the CrossCountry RMT ballot shows that staff have accepted the offered rate of pay and conditions, by an overwhelming majority.

@ChimeWhistle @ChasewaterRail @NLRailway I can certainly see more going down a route similar to the East Lancs of having one steam and one diesel diagram. I can also see a return to smaller steam locos similar to the early days of preservation, with type 5 and above largely confined to specials & possibly main line.
RMT sources say that the CrossCountry catering issues are “Miles apart, with very little sign of sorting.” This follows a letter to CrossCountry HR, accusing the company of having a “hostile attitude” to negotiations – one that “does not encourage good industrial relations.”
We will, I suspect,reach a point on the bigger lines where steam is run only on summer weekends and special events – all other services being diesel hauled. The smaller lines such as @ChasewaterRail @NLRailway will not be affected so much,not least because no directors on big £.
