I love working with LLMs. Although I can't help but miss the good ole days of training baby deep neural nets from scratch, with careful feature engineering every time. That thrill of seeing a loss function value converge over time was something else. #womeninAI

I agree with this take. A PhD is an opportunity to build taste, ownership and end to end thinking on a problem. It also gives you the privilege of knowing, and caring, more about a problem than almost anyone in the world.

I've spent almost a decade in tech. I remember the first time seeing Claude complete a full stack coding task for me. Laughter bubbled out of me... it was pure delight. This changes everything - we build in dialogue now.
