Witnessing this evokes a multitude of feelings. Frustration over companies charging £6000 weekly per child (£24,000 a month), while providing little support for care leavers at 18. Unacceptable, inhumane, and change is imperative. No one should profit from traumatised people.

I was the on-call SpR psychiatrist last night in South London I assessed people in a mental health crisis who needed emergency inpatient care There was NOT A SINGLE PSYCHIATRIC BED AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY If this was physical health, there would be outrage

I remember just before I turned 16, my social worker at the time asked me if I would want to move into semi independence. This pressure continued for months, constant asking. No child should have to leave their home at 16. NO CHILD.

There are lots of young people 16+ in the care sector receiving very little support, if any at all. These YP are vulnerable and living on the breadline. Some of these YP live on £3 a day, and rely on food banks and other charitable donations. Children In Care Are Still Children.
