In @REVIVED_BCIS2, PCI did not prolong life in patients with ischemic LV dysfunction. But what about symptoms? Our detailed analysis of health status and quality of life out this week in JACC: Heart Failure. jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.…
The analysis included all patients enrolled in @REVIVED_BCIS2. Health status was ascertained at baseline, 6, 12 and 24 months using the #KCCQ. The primary analysis was a hierarchical win ratio with death, HHF and KCCQ-OSS at 24 months. Secondary outcome was a responder analysis.
In contrast to previous commentary, baseline health status was severely decreased, with baseline scores lower than those seen in most contemporary #heartfailure trials. PCI led to a substantial initial improvement in KCCQ scores, which persisted to 12 months.
In the primary analysis, PCI did not result in better health outcomes analysed using the win ratio at 24 months.
In the secondary analysis, treatment with PCI led to more KCCQ 5-point responders at 6 months, but not at 12 or 24 month follow-up.
