43 years ago today, when North Wales was the place to be on a Summer Saturday. A very slightly bent 40131 waits time at Llandudno on Saturday 24th July 1982 with 1E82, the 1353 to York, while the bashers take their positions at the windows in the leading coach.

I am extremely pleased to announce that I will be semi-retiring from September onwards with a view to going the whole hog in a year or two - I've looked forward to it for years but now the thought scares me half to death! Is this a common feeling for those who have done it?

#CastleMillsTMD Network Rail arrive on depot this evening to take the PLPR Test Train out. 37421 moves towards the refuelling road where it will refuel before being coupled to the test coaches. It will top and tail with 37116, departing at 01:25 under headcode 1Q02
