#Korea #NextPresident Lee Jae-Myung swept the Democratic Party's primaries and now set to win the Presidential election 03JUN2025. Reactionary conservatives in Korea still cannot fathom this prospect and in disarray. Lee's policies portend focus on the economy.
#Korea Yoon's demise has been foreseen in his violent bursts of fits and tantrums. Korean voters keep making wrong choices in candidates that are inexperienced and megalomaniacal. Go figure.
Korea export Nov 1 to Nov 10 declines by 17.8 percent. Memory chips and petrochemical export to China on the way down.
The Korean economy grew +0.1 percent in 2024Q3, undershooting Bank of Korea's forecast of +0.5 percent. Annual forecast of +2.5 percent growth now looks impossible. IMF forecast also misfires. Cannot trust government forecast in Korea.
#Korea General election exit poll indicates a landslide win for opposition parties of Lee and Cho (picture) vs sitting President and his lieutenant Han. Expect more tumultuous jockeying brawling politics till next Presidential election in 2027.
#China Foreign Minister since DEC 2022, Qin Gang has been replaced by his superior and former Minister, Wang Yi. Qin was a hardliner doing Xi Jinping's bid against the US and this sudden about-turn throws doubt on Xi's edifice.
