We really gotta popularize a higher fidelity vocabulary for communicating about AI. The AI we’re talking about here is so different from ChatGPT that it barely makes sense to have the same word for both of them, and I don’t think that’s obvious enough to lay audiences.

The so called "AI foundational" models are not the best archive for human knowledge. The best archive need to be free from reconstruction artifacts or "hallucinations" like a database that records precisely what was said or done.

Incredible satellite imagery of very intense "bomb cyclone" off the Pacific Northwest coastline of the United States. 💣 📉Central pressure falling through the 950s mb to about 940 mb this evening. These monster storms don't get much more intense in this area.
