The HDSB recognizes the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (May 5). The Final Report of the National Inquiry into MMIWG2S delivers 231 individual Calls for Justice.

The #HDSB recognizes National Indigenous Languages Day. There are more than 70 Indigenous languages spoken across the country. This connects to the many Indigenous Nations, languages and dialects that have been spoken and continue to enrich these lands.
On Louis Riel Day, the #HDSB honours the legacy of Métis leader, Louis Riel. Today, we mark and celebrate the Métis culture, history and way of life that Riel fought to protect, as well as the continued fight for rights and recognition that he inspired. @HDSBIndigenous
Nov. 8 is National Indigenous Veterans Day. This is a day of remembrance and commemoration of the contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis veterans and those who continue to serve. The #HDSB honours and recognizes these many contributions. @HDSBIndigenous
