I don't think people actually want accurate news or balanced opinions. They say they do, but they really just want to read things they already believe to reinforce their own biases. New ideas are rarely entertained if they come from "the other side" or challenge your beliefs.

Some of the purest feelings you can find, is when you are the same person in all contexts. You remove all personal filters and are just radically yourself. I’m not quite there myself, but I do try to act in text as I do in person. Any disconnect I consider a failure.

I went out and brought in my trash can this morning. My neighbor waved, and I waved back. Imagine if social media had this basic respect. I don’t know who he voted for. Don’t know his views on any given topic. But he and his family seem very decent. Happy to be their neighbor.
