I’m always going to push my therapist colleagues to choose at least 1 somatic modality to have in their toolkit There’s no way, with this much trauma around, you can just rest on your laurels as a talk therapist & think you are making any long term change in people’s lives

Today I was reminded again that being a Black therapist who works with Black women is important. A client felt embarrassed because her hair wasn’t completely done. I told sis she could finish her hair install while we processed her feelings. The therapy session was a success.
