@evanmiltenburg @EhudReiter @_dmh One of the things that keeps Reiter & Dale relevant to me is the way in which it focuses on the real problems. Some more recent works form the problem around whatever model is trendy. This is slightly different to relevance, although I struggle to explain things via tweet.

One high level observation which applies to many systems is that they can do amazing things on complex tasks and then fail on a much easier task. Maybe this is a general characteristic of neural systems?

I will be able to cite the lyrics to 'walking in the snow' from run the jewels album rtj4 as part of my thesis on algorithmic decision making. Though i am more scared of the bibtex work needed for the citation than i am about the considerable amount of profanity.
