When introducing a new product be sure to record estimates of anticipated sales or usage, by week or month, for the first three to six months after introduction. Comparing actual sales to these estimates will help guide you in future product introductions.

Pareto’s Principle states that 80% of sales are generated by 20% of your products. We’ve found that its commonly only 10% to 13% of items.

A warning in your order processing program should warn salespeople and buyers when available stock of “A” ranked items are critically low. Until stock is replenished, allocate remaining stock to your best customers.
