Part of the damage trauma does to our nervous system is, it makes it difficult to feel something as simple as relief when an immediate stressor abates-- because our brain is convinced that letting ourselves relax or feel even momentary relief makes us vulnerable.

When someone dies by suicide due to mental health-related issues, please try not to be angry at them, but rather, be angry at the system/society that failed them.

We are on the verge of losing many more lives to suicide. There are many attempts in process that we have no idea about. There are people in our lives right now who won’t be soon due to suicide. There are many that we won’t believe have died by suicide once they’re gone.

There are, unfortunately, with mental illness, many ultracrepidarians who believe they have the perfect prescription to ease your troubles. They have all of the solutions and none of the symptoms and, if left up to their own devices, could cause more suicides.

Once, we feared the darkness because it hindered our ability to see & played tricks on our minds by making us believe things that weren’t there. Now, with depression, the darkness resides in our minds. The tricks it plays are more dangerous. This darkness can kill if not escaped.

It blows my mind that w/all the lives we’ve already lost to suicide & w/all those struggling daily w/mental health-related concerns, the fight for suicide prevention & mental healthcare is still a war we are losing. How many lives do we have to lose before people start to care?

There’s someone right now who’s trying to find a reason to stay alive. They feel alone, like a burden, & unnecessary. They feel unloved, unheard, & unseen. Their minds are torturing them & trying to push them over the edge. You might know this person. You might be this person.
