My cat passed away yesterday at nearly 18 years old. Many of you knew her as the lab’s quiet mascot—her photo appears on our X account and elsewhere. She had been with me through most of my time at IU, offering steady companionship. She will be greatly missed.

Here's more on Pol IV-RDR2 coupling, highlighted by the spectacular new Science paper from the Zhang lab and new PNAS paper by Fukudome et al. in my lab. Here is our version of the model for how Pol IV arrest and backtracking enables RDR2 synthesis of the 2nd RNA strand.
