Here's what the combination of a low-floored train fitted with gap fillers and platform/track set (very roughly!) to the GB standard position looks like. Curvature doesn't matter. It isn't perfect, but it's a much better starting point than the status quo 📐

@Tanni_GT @TheSunTravel These are our new train carriages which will be operational by the end of the year. Currently they are building out a few station platforms that are not level but by the end of the year it will be all level boarding on our Dart train line. This should be the norm now!

The Class 755s are one of my 3 favourite types of Trains I like to travel on. I find them smooth to ride on fantastic idea with the level boarding and being a bi-mode train as well.

@LordOrk @SpeedySticks007 @tfwrail Definitely at Penarth and Dingle Road as they were done before the 231 were run. I believe up to Caerphilly is ok again because of 231 operations but haven’t been on the Coryton branch yet. However Ty Glas has been closed for lengthing and height adjustment for @LevelBoarding

@Galtonist @humantransit Level boarding is where the train platform is at the same height as the train floor, allowing users with mobility issues to easily board and alight from the vehicle

We all need to get around, but in the UK many disabled people like us are blocked from travelling because of large gaps and steps between the train and the platform. Level boarding solves that issue, so stations are more accessible to everyone - accessibility should be standard.

It’s 2025. How we still have brand new trains entering service that don’t have @LevelBoarding included is just embarrassing! Benefits of level boarding is a win for everyone. Access for all is a win for everyone!
