The Canes have Aho, Jarvis, Ehlers, Blake, and Stankoven locked up into the 2030s at a laughably low combined number, some solid young players in Nadeau and Nikishin, and picks to play with. We’ll see if they can finally get over the hump, but they aren’t going anywhere.

Now I’m not saying they SHOULD do this but in a scenario where you swap Ghost with EK65.. the Canes would probably have the fastest defense in the league. Offensive defensemen doe another but bigger and faster. It also clears up the LHD logjam.

Per NHL Edge data, K'Andre Miller is 94th percentile in top skating speed and 89th percentile in bursts over 20 mph. Burns was 53rd/61st, Orlov was below 50th in both. MAJOR mobility upgrade for Canes blue line. Think he'd thrive with Chatfield. #RaiseUp

The more I think about it, the more I don't mind the K'Andre deal. Yeah, you're paying on potential to some level, but he's a 6-5, 25 year old, ultra athletic defenseman. The age and stylist fit in CAR should be perfect. Rising cap. I'm cool with it.

Have seen multiple reports linking #GoBolts to Jets FA winger Nikolaj Ehlers. He'd look really nice in the #TBLightning lineup, a 60-point scorer with speed who plays a reponsible two-way game. But I don't know how it works under the cap unless TB moves out significant salary.
