Castle your king, kids! Played an online rapid game after 6 months, turned out to be a quick one regardless.
They say the winner is the one who makes the next-to-last mistake. And it showed today in my game. Desperate to crush through, I blundered with 24. h5? to which my opponent replied with 24...Qb6?? losing the game to 25. Qxg6+. He would have had a huge advantage after 24...g5!
It's been a long time since I solved some puzzles. This morning I decided to solve some and this first one took my breath away, even though it's fairly easy. White to move. #chess

Interesting how the engine suggests 3 moves which are all 0.00, yet rates the Bxg5!! move which I played as brilliant, even though it's -0.13 afterwards.
As the saying goes, a knight on a rim is dim. Taken from my teammate's game from a couple of weeks ago.
A wonderful strategic win for me today as we clinched another 4,5:3,5 victory and keep dominating the competition. I am on a 14-game unbeaten streak which I think is quite an achievement on my level! #chess
Today I played the best chess game of my life. How many times do you get to say that? Wasn't entirely sure about the outcome of my plan, but it turned out to be a masterpiece. I'm as satisfied as one can be, it truly was a joy to play today.
A quick draw today against a lower-rated opponent, neither of us was in a mood to create complications. We won 4,5:3,5 which shouldn't have happened as one of the opponents had a winning endgame. However, he forgot to turn off his phone. The rules are clear about ringing phones.
Looking forward to a start of a new chess season tomorrow! Our club moved to a different place in the off-season and I hope it's going to work out well. We're the defending champions this year, but we keep our feet on the ground. #chess
