A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Michigan until 7PM EDT! Damaging gusts and isolated hail associated with a developing line of thunderstorms will be the primary threats. #MIwx
An isolated #tornado or two could happen in Lower Michigan this early to mid afternoon, as an arc of storms and supercells interact with a warm frontal zone north of Lansing to Detroit area (purple zone) around 1-4 pm.

On a flight DEN-GRR on April 26, one of our weather spotters captured this cumulonimbus cloud north of Grand Island, Nebraska at 1:07 PM CDT. At this moment, an EF-3 tornado with 145 mph winds was ongoing underneath this storm cloud near the town of Elba. (1/2) @NWSHastings
Debarked trees with metal wrapped around them according to EMS per news 9. Yikes.
A PDS-warned anti-cyclonic tornado this close to a radar site in an area that was under no tornado risk this morning??? Yeah, this case will be studied for years.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a tornado should be able to form from this. Its environment is too mediocre to get its fat little body on the ground. The tornado, of course, forms anyway because tornadoes don't care what humans think is impossible.
Likely one of the strongest tornadoes we’ve seen in years just occurred in the dark, remote plains of southwest Oklahoma. Thankfully in mostly rural areas, but it’s likely some people / animals were effected. The thing essentially had an EYE on radar 😳 A PDS tornado warning…
Tuesday/Wednesday of next week, honing in on a potential severe scenario here for the Midwest/Great Lakes region. Ensemble support is there, many things to iron out yet.

I understand that it was an apartment building where as many as 45 people lived. No heavy machinery was available to remove the collapsed roof. To make matters worse, heavy rain was pouring the entire time. Please pray for these folks.
Phew, last night was — a lot. We came upon some pretty sad scenes after the Sulphur tornado. The worst of which was a collapsed apartment building on the east side of town. One of my chase partners helped pull 3 people alive. But there were more missing.
The State Emergency Operations Center is activated for severe weather across Oklahoma. @okem and other partners are prepared to support cities or counties impacted by storms or flooding. Stay weather aware and know where you’ll take shelter if a severe storm threatens your area!
