Be careful not to confuse percent with percentage point. A change from 10% to 13% is a rise of 3 percentage points. This is not equal to a 3% change; rather, it’s a 30% increase. #ACESWeb20 #editing #percent #percentage
So true. I encourage all editors to be more considerate. A lot of training has gone into making us as good as we are. We need to readjust our expectations from others.
As editors, it is very easy for us to criticize poorly written manuscripts with unclear content and weird formatting, but we must not forget that this is what authors need our help with; our profession won't exist if authors wrote perfectly, would it?
