average age of death for #PMLD in #LeDeR report was 48 yrs I think, or was it 41 - frighteningly low and unacceptable even with health issues #PMLDchat #welnds

Most certainly, support often requires specialist support but not always a nursing service - which is sometimes the case, resources poorly allocated for these people - no interest or understanding from commissioners #pmldchat #welnds

That people with #pmld need to eb valued as individuals, and while health and posture needs are important, we need to understand the person - that takes time and proper rapport building and listening #pmldchat #welnds

Yes, and often battle with medical professionals, who think the person cannot cope with further interventions - and give up, need good advocacy from people who know what potential the person has #PMLDchat #weldns

Feeling very emotional listening to the stories on @theJeremyVine show on @BBCRadio2 . May this be the final year where I am pleading for my son to be accepted in the world. All he needs is usable toilet facilities.
