I’ve basically uncovered the optimal set of mundane views to make extremists lose their minds, and they are:
-the economy is good
-data has meaning
-America is prosperous
-people believe propaganda
-racism is bad
-immigrants are fine
-trans people are real
-Nazis are very bad
Do you really get to decide the kind of place you want to live in? Let’s look at five ways Americans tell everyone how they have to live. Hint: it’s less about arrogance and more about ignorance. 🧵
I wish I could take bets against these people. I wouldn’t even want money, if I win. I’d just want them to apologize for their false certainty and to delete their accounts

As a former political addict I just want to make clear that you have my love and respect. If you watched the Newsom-DeSantis debate, there are more people in your life who can offer support than you'd probably think. Don't hesitate to ask for help.
“He said he hoped it would be overturned on appeal in time for him to vote for Trump again.”
Another shouts “Trump won” after sentencing.
Unbelievable. These people get decades in prison and all they can think about is ways to continue serving Trump. washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2023/…
Mississippi has significantly higher rates of drug use, mental illness, unemployment, and poverty than California. But homelessness there is a whopping 10x lower, because at the end of the day homelessness comes down to whether someone can afford to pay the rent.
“It’s good to work hard when you’re young and don’t have a lot of responsibilities” is one of those things that I think it’s become unfashionable to say but is true.

John Marshall Harlan, 1896: lone dissenter in Plessy v. Ferguson castigates Court for endorsing "subjugation" and "domination" of Blacks by whites. "Our Constitution is color-blind," Marshall said
Ketanji Brown Jackson, 2023: a color-blind Constitution endorses racial injustice
In 2014, Tokyo built more housing than the entire nation of England.
On average, Tokyo builds five times as much housing per capita as California.
Since 2002, while housing prices in major global cities have universally skyrocketed, in Tokyo they have remained flat.
Once you realize that the animating drive of all NIMBYism on both the left and the right is to be able to live in perpetually-appreciating single-family homes with no poor people nearby, everything they say becomes instantly comprehensible and intensely boring.
Well, the bill:
(a) Reduces demand by increasing taxes to cut the deficit
(b) Increases supply by investing in the production of more domestic energy
So, yeah, demand⬇️+ supply⬆️ = less inflation.
Republicans just hate it when rich people pay taxes.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a thousand times: The treatment for an ectopic pregnancy, a septic uterus, or a miscarriage that your body won’t release is abortion. If you can’t get those abortions, you die. You. Die.
One of the weirdest things about being a human adult who has basically always lived in the mid Atlantic region is that about 10-15 years ago without much fanfare we just stopped having winter
Anyway it's 53 degrees out at 9:41 on December 10
