I keep seeing people saying this and I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I try ChatGPT a few times a week for coding help at work and it never seems actually better than just figuring things out myself.

As our summer interns start there a very obvious generational divide in tool preferences. Almost all of the folks under ~26 love VSCode. Any older you've got a much wider range of development environments.

Doing some googling on a new topic over the weekend I was struck by how overrun Google is with AI-generated content, often being in the highlighted result. Sometimes I had to go 3 or 4 pages deep to find real information.

In addition to the obvious craziness it appears this app has a **prompt** about Jan 6. For those not familiar with the dating apps, prompts are app curated. The service is inviting people to talk about Jan 6, and this is probably one of the expected outcomes.

It's funny that ChatGPT's strengths and weaknesses are almost completely opposite the popular conception of what is easy/hard for an artificial system. ChatGPT does well on creative prompts, style mimicry, imagined dialogue, poems, but it is terrible at knowledge-based prompts.
