Lifted the last of my Chinese Artichokes today. I’ll keep regrowing, but not sure if worth it… A meal for two out of a 30l bucket? But at least it’s fresh veg in February.

It’s oca o’clock again. These ones were raised a few years ago from seed I collected from my plants as part of @ocabreeders program to create a UK adapted oca. We’re not there yet, but it’s worth persisting because oca is an attractive and tasty crop.

Huacatay, Peruvian Black Mint. A peculiar peppery smell, more citrus than mint. Thinking this would go great with chicken & potatoes. Will make a creamy sauce… having a go at saving seeds. This plant grown on for seeds, reached 6 foot.

I feel like I’m a week or so late to plant the elephant garlic. 25 cloves, 16 single bulbs planted, bulbils going into a palette collar bed. I only bought 10 two years ago from the @TheGarlicFarm planted 24 last year, so seem to be doubling up each year… Best investment!

@BlindDad_Uk @VolkerLaserUK One thing that gets me is when they move the bus stop for roadworks and put up a sign saying ‘bus stop closed’ or ‘footpath closed’ how on earth are v.i people without guide dogs meant to find the new stop or a safe crossing area to footpath that is available? Ridiculous.x
