Labeling: Do something just once or twice, and it's, "you always do that!" followed by, "You are like this or that", and "you are XYZ!" i.e. first a generalisation is made, then an attribute is attributed to you, and then a label is dropped upon you.

Psych Diagnosis involves a top-down approach:- Dropping preconceived categories, and labels from the DMS manual or textbook, onto the rich, complex person. Instead of empirically, a grounds upward, description of an individual.
