The Rio Ruidoso at Hollywood reached a provisional crest of 20.24 feet this afternoon while significant flash flooding was occurring . If this is confirmed, it would be a record high crest (compared to last year's crest of 15.86 feet on July 20th). #NMwx

It's been a strong start to the monsoon for parts of NM. Some places have already seen over 6" of rain since June 15. Areas in central, southern, & eastern NM are sitting 400%+ above average so far. Northwest NM has seen very little no rain at all yet. #NMwx

A plume of monsoon moisture will start to bring storms into New Mexico Sunday. The heaviest rain will fall Monday through Wednesday. Some places could see more than 2-3" of rain! Flash flooding will be likely both on and off burn scars. #NMwx
