The feature of the 1662 BCP that I most value & which cannot be found in any of the American ones is the lectionary. I suppose I understand why they felt the need to make changes here, but the ones they made show a big difference in liturgical skill and really are a step down.

Great Britain ended its slave trade in 1807. The slaves in the British West Indies were freed in 1833. The US ended its slave trade in 1808. The US Civil War begins in 1861. Quite the contrast.
