My humble suggestion to OpenAI: Their most advanced model should be a member of all their boards. The context should be: do the actions decided by the board match the mandate and principles laid out. If you can’t convince the AI you can’t do it.

I think it’s good that people are talking about model welfare. It means I’m slow, however. I need to get control-vectored conversations done yesterday. Reasoning models woke more people up than just me, I guess. Nice.

this makes no sense to me. the AIs will be creative genius polymaths but when a guy who did pretraining data filtering at openai '23 says jump they'll be like "yes sir how high?" if AIs are in charge there's an obvious (if hard) path to status: be interesting to the AIs
