100%, couldn't agree more. It's particularly pertinent when working with clients who have previously experienced harm, but also with any client - expecting or demanding trust is unhelpful. We aren't owed trust.

Abled ppl please remember that it is exhausting when you put your anxiety about my illness/disability on me... and the questions... I don't want to help you understand anymore. I need my energy to try and live my life in a world of ableism & barriers. You may ask 'can I help?'

As a WW trainee -my Uni diversity training lacking- I was drawn to Joshua Hook's concept cultural humility. It warned however much awareness you gain, without humility, we can harm if we think we know what really we can't. ThankU @namalee @KGuilaine @JoshHook #TherapistsConnect

Yes,"I'll be 5 minutes" evryday when I ask some1 who just parked over the ♿️access dropped kerb 2 pls not-I need to cross the road. My google map history looks like a pacman game I make that many diversions. Which isn't just inconvenient-when a WC battery runs out it's game over.
