Is it really unreasonable to charge 6 USD (1900 LKR) for a Kottu from a foreigner ?
@SparkInterruptd There should not be any dual prices... It doesn't matter where they come from. #shame
I think the 1900Rs price is reasonable. If you pay close attention to what that YouTuber ordered, it is Fish Koththu with fried fish. I don’t have any idea about the prices again in Sri Lanka. ( I always thought those fried fish were so expensive 😂). Hopefully, we'll hear the owner's side when he defends himself in court. Also, I firmly believe that the owner can decide not to serve anyone he wishes. Specifically, someone questioned his integrity. This YouTuber must know it since he's from the US. I can't believe he questions the price while paying 8$ for a Big Mac!😆
@SparkInterruptd No as long as it's prepared in a clean place, made with enough of meat / fish / egg / cheese or whatever the namesake of the kottu and offered with a decent packing or a place to sit and dine. If you have to pay Rs. 1900 for a petti kadey kottu that's ridiculous
@SparkInterruptd It’s unfair to charge higher from “foreigners only”
@SparkInterruptd $6 or $60 it has to be fixed rate rather than rate based on nationality or skin color. That's the point 🤷🏻
@SparkInterruptd 6 dollars is way too much for diarrhea next morning.
@SparkInterruptd The question shouldn’t be about what is reasonable to charge a foreigner but what is reasonable to charge a consumer. There should be no price difference based on visa status.
