Toronto is unfortunately not serious about the streetcars and hasn’t been in a very long time. Part of the issue is a seeming desire to maintain things as close to the 1950s as possible.

By giving GO trains a place to pass each other, or slow moving freight trains, two-way all-day service to Kitchener is slowly being unlocked. More passing tracks will be built on the Metrolinx Guelph Subdivision over the coming years.

How does Metro Vancouver build rapid transit for less than many other cities in North America? Short elevated stations that are attractive, but highly standardized. Compare to Northgate station in Seattle which looks like it could easily be twice as tall!

The community of Streetsville in Mississauga is really nice, and has two great Mexican restaurants. It is located adjacent to Streetsville GO on the Milton Line, which unfortunately only has peak service. TWAD GO would open up this gem of a community to the whole region!
