Drug possession/use now also banned in BC hospitals. BC boosting addictions teams and resources. Nurses will not search people for drugs, but ask. If people break rules, security will address and could remove them from hospital.
NEW - BC is functionally re-criminalizing drug possession and drug use in all public spaces. Police can resume seizure/arrests. Decriminalization will remain only in private residences, shelters, overdose prevention sites, and healthcare sites with outpatient addictions services.

NEW - BC is asking Ottawa for decriminalization exemptions to ban drug use in all public places, providing police power to enforce against use and seize drugs in parks, hospitals, beaches, restaurants and more.
@drlesleybarron I personally know four specialists who left Ottawa in the past year. We are also looking into our options. I feel qualified to say that yes, doctors are leaving, and will continue to do so unless we see meaningful change.
@rightstoday Wow. I’m not an avid watcher of council meetings but from what I’ve seen, he go-to's are smug, condescending or entitled. I do not see the role of my municipal gov’t as being “a vehicle to transfer wealth to those who need it the most.” Maybe she should try the non-profit sector?
