The whole debate over whether or not SEPTA is efficient is just a demonstration of how parochial Pennsylvania can be. If you look around at other transit agencies in America, it is pretty clear that SEPTA punched significantly above their weight. everettpost.com/state-news/fue…

This is not accurate. PennDOT spends over twice that amount on roads and bridges. Penndot spends $11 billion every year. Over 75% is on roads and bridges.

For as long as I live, I’ll never understand why mass transit is expected to turn a profit while we give roads and highways $250B+ annually with zero expectation of profit. Either it all should or none of it should.
