Google don’t make it easy to which image and text assets are performing well in your performance max campaigns. Click into your performance max campaign, click “asset groups” and then click “view details”. This will show your assets with a rating from low to best.

You should have segmented Google shopping campaigns when running a Shopping only structure. If you are selling other peoples brands, focus on creating new campaigns for your top performing brands. If you are selling your own products, focus on splitting by product type.

Call-out assets can really help your Google Search ads click through rate. Go to “ads & assets” on the left column, click “assets” and find “call-outs”. Here you can add 5-10 USP’s about your brand and your products to help win the click compared to your competitors.

Are you unsure of where to send your Google ads traffic? Under the “Insights & Reports” tab, you will see a sections for “landing pages”. Sort these by mist conversions and you will get a good idea of the pages that actually do well when you’re sending traffic.

Its very rare that using maximise clicks is a good strategy on Google ads. If you do decide to, in a campaign that you do want to just drive people to the website (most of which won't purchase), ensure you set a bid limit, otherwise it will charge you way too much per click.
