In 50 years time will our grandchildren thank us for a few rusty submarines or saving hundreds of species - koala, platypus, black-cockatoos, orchids? Australian spending on defence exceeds the resources needed to secure its dwindling biodiversity more than tenfold.

One of the coolest things about living in Brisbane is how (relatively) easy it is to find wild Koalas. I know Koala funding is a bit of a joke in conservation circles, but I do hope that the money is well spent and this will still be the reality well into the future. 🐨
