Instagram's reel feed algorithm has gotten scary good. In my feed, my view to impression ratio is probably close to 80% and my like to view ratio is close to 60%. About a few months ago, both would've been less than 10%.

Kinda crazy that all conversations around Meta Super Intelligence seem to revolve around rumours of $100M comp instead of what they're actually trying to build. Maybe this is a reflection of the times, where even unsubstantiated rumours of $$ garner more attention than substance

At EMNLP 24, Tom Griffiths' (@cocosci_lab) talk on Bayesian methods in LLMs was an eye opener. There's a lot of value in rethinking modern problems thru classical ML Super interesting to see this work on using data augmentation guided by causal inference to tackle reward hacking
