Our business has a $70k min wage, a median wage close to $100k, full benefits, 3% 401(k) grants & unlimited paid parental leave. We've had over 300 applicants per job opening this year. There's no labor shortage. There's a shortage of jobs with a living wage and basic benefits.

$15 isn't even good pay. According to the MIT Living Wage Calculator, $15 is only a living wage for a single adult with no dependents in the cheapest states. Have a partner that doesn't work? The living wage is $22 in Alabama. Have a kid? It's $27. People are asking for peanuts

I don't want to hear that poor people don't know how to manager their money. When you're poor you budget out every last cent because the alternative is losing your home, electricity, groceries. But with overdraft fees, interest, payday loans, etc, it's very expensive to be poor.
