Adding subtitles and cutting a video is not editing. A $20/m AI tool can do it. Just saying.
@_mikeVideo You can approach both creatively, and its high value editing
@_mikeVideo Counterpoint... both of those things are editing. Discuss.
@_mikeVideo yes if you’re talking about “hormozi” style captions. but crafting a story by using strategic cuts from a 3 hour long-form & placing the words in an aesthetically pleasing manner is good editing for sure 👍
@_mikeVideo for the most part I agree with you but sometimes you have to be very creative with what you cut and what you keep. You can build your own narrative just by cutting a long footage so I think when that happens, it’s editing
@_mikeVideo Cant agree more on this one I think people misunderstand the term editing as in just cutting up the raw footage and throw in some graphics and make it look all flashy. Curating a video to show a change from point A to point B is the real goal of a content piece!
@_mikeVideo I agree I would even add that by how easy the ai tools make the content ends up getting saturated so fast like those basic captions with black storms and *insert random color* just don’t grab my attention anymore
@_mikeVideo Cutting clips and adding subtitles is only a small part of most video editors workflow.
@_mikeVideo Still basic editing just not the standards that people have today
@_mikeVideo But there a difference, (in my opinion) Understanding the content, where to cut, maintaining the pacing of the video. And, this is editing and needs an editor.
@_mikeVideo Interesting take Do you think AI tools will ever replace human editors entirely?
@_mikeVideo Is that always a bad thing, though? Take IG for example. That platforms prefers their creators use IG's own editing tools, which boils down to cutting...and adding captions. I agree with you in principle, though.
@_mikeVideo Agreed. Like I want the clips I assemble in the timeline to say something before I add additional ingredients to the final version.
@_mikeVideo While an AI tool can handle basic tasks, it doesn't replace the creativity and thoughtfulness that goes into true video editing
@_mikeVideo Ok? And when AI progresses to the arbitrary point you've decided to label as 'real editing,' will it also stop being editing then? What a dumb statement.
@_mikeVideo You know what all this AI This AI that talk makes me sick that if i become a successful person one day ill buy all the developed ai technologies and lock it to the ultra rich because holy shit the takes are horrendous.
