Now that I’ve given up on mining, shipping, etc, it’s kinda depressing because you’re letting go of chasing that 3-5x but I found catching those winners is very hard whereas even quality names get completely crushed in a downcycle. Actual result for me was underperformance.

Instead of getting jacked up on the quality of their fleet and the nobility of surviving the downturn wish I hadn't downplayed this: 6+ billion in debt barely budging and FCF not even enough to service the debt. Might work one day but is the risk and pain worth it? 💸
