@_workchronicles No joke though. Retiontion is cheaper yet rewarding employees for god work is much harder than losing someone and then overpaying for a replacement. HR neds to get its data analysis capability together.
@_workchronicles We had a fight with HR to get a really good programmer who happened to not live in an expensive area up to market rate, now that he can just get a remote job. It was something like a 30% bump he was asking for. HR only cared about the percentage and "bad precedent".
@_workchronicles They won't hire 2 people. They'll hire one. The next person will be doing the work of 3 or 4 people. That's how it works at my spouse's employer. Hire 1 person for every 2 that leave.
@_workchronicles So true, so annoying. How infuriating are the companies that hate training new employees so they pass the training on to the employee who is already doing 2 jobs?Then they wonder why they are losing their most skilled employees, but keep hiring morons….this cycle on repeat.😞😡
@_workchronicles @sargoth On one project, I replaced two people. Did I get a raise? Well of course not. It's lies ... all the way down.
@_workchronicles @mainframed767 This reminds me the satellite companies like Dish and DirecTV. They only have promotions for new customers but no for loyal customers. Sad
@_workchronicles This was me. I actually resigned. 😒
@_workchronicles @BenLesh It's often true... that's when you need to start looking elsewhere, and negotiate for better pay coming in. Moving up, often means also moving on. Never be afraid to ask for more pay at a new job. I suggest testing the waters asking for 10-20% more than you were making before.
@_workchronicles Secret is not asking for a pay raise, but work 1/4.
@_workchronicles @mikejava85 @mikejava85 fikar na kar salary waise bhi nahi badhni, tera boss ye dekh ke bhi nahi samjhne wala!
@_workchronicles Oh! Is it!? Damn I thought the other way round 😵💫😵💫
@_workchronicles Problem in India is that management is more worried about Baki employees naraz na ho jayenge. It’s better that 4 non perfomers leave than 1 performer.
@_workchronicles When I figured out I was doing the work of 2 people I quit and got two jobs.
@_workchronicles The industry is designed for you to job hop to get pay rises.
@_workchronicles The basis is just broken metrics and twisted KPIs.
@_workchronicles Gotta learn how to automate or be more efficient at the work. Working extra hours is for the birds
@_workchronicles @_jeck That’s what I called “ugly management”
