Had a great time attending the @CanadianAi Conference, @uofg (Guelph). Two papers were presented from our team, Anshul Verma and M. Tahir (@umanitoba). Great talks throughout the conference and learning about new advances in the field.
***True Story*** I heard that in an academic interview, a candidate presented a lot of work on #LLMs, #GenerativeAI. One person asked, "What is discriminative AI/models?"...followed by silence. Read ML in full, not selected parts because they are popular, it will help.

In Sweden, they call the external PhD examiner an Opponent, and the job is to publicly challenge the thesis defender. The Opponent doesn't grade, there is a separate committee for that, who grades the defender based on their interaction with the Opponent. 1/2
