@alex_peys The problem isn't that it is a transformer. The problem is that it is an auto-regressive LLM. Auto-regressive LLMs that compute each token with a fixed number of computational steps can't reason, regardless of the details of the architecture.

It's a mistake to try to raise money if you're not quite attractive enough to investors. They don't say no immediately. They suck up a lot of your time and hope, and then say no. It's a huge distraction and crushingly bad for morale.

One difference between worry about AI and worry about other kinds of technologies (e.g. nuclear power, vaccines) is that people who understand it well worry more, on average, than people who don't. That difference is worth paying attention to.
