Don’t assume everyone attending the presentation knows exactly what it’s all about. Clarify the subject by stating it as a purpose (i.e. We're here to show, to prove, to explain). This puts the focus on outcomes. #presentationskills lnkd.in/dpzFmbk

In the seconds before any presentation begins many of those in the room are present physically but not yet mentally. Get their attention. Use a quote, question, story, or powerful visual. But it has to be relevant otherwise it’s just a gimmick. #presenta…lnkd.in/dHBtkiv

A well prepared presenter should be able to deal with the unexpected, like technical issues. If something goes wrong don't apologize (which draws attention). Just deal with it and move on. Your credibility goes up. #presentationskills lnkd.in/dpVW-DS

When selecting visual aids think about the size of the room, style of the audience, desired tone and complexity of your info. Make slides that reinforce your words, not repeat them and don’t just hand out a copy of your slides. They don’t work without you…lnkd.in/eugDCBD

Reading slides and presenting them are not the same thing. When you read, you don’t engage people. You rarely even look at them. The flip-side to reading slides is the presenter who ignores the screen and never mentions what’s there. Be a presenter not a…lnkd.in/gsEJYf5

Most of us read faster than a person can speak. So why do presenters fill the screen with words and then read them aloud to the audience? A simple rule – if it’s on the screen don’t read it, paraphrase it. #presentationskills lnkd.in/evncvkp
