Feeling a sense of pride when seeing how dramatically Val's art had improved, he still couldn't help envisioning a future in which the achievements of women artists would be forgotten. Maybe that wouldn't matter. Only Superman seemed immune to the plague that had infested comics.

What if Joe and Matt's input had taken Marvel in a completely different but equally successful direction? Joe could have made SGT. FURY just as popular as Kirby. Matt doing something like Scarlet Witch would have made it a big seller.
