In case its helpful for female academics, a strategy I use when I suspect I'm getting asked to do service bc I'm female is to Suggest-A-Man. Safest to suggest someone w/roughly same seniority as you. Doesn't hurt to throw in a "They seem to have ideas on [service topic]." 1/2

📊 Just read the Dashboard Design Patterns paper—lots of great tips! Learn about common design solutions, mixing genres, and making smart design choices. The part on balancing screen space, abstraction, pages, and interaction is quite insightful. Finding the right balance is key!
